Many fans have put the blame for Cody Rhodes’ shock WrestleMania 39 loss down to Vince McMahon’s WWE return.

However, according to a new report Roman Reigns was never set to lose the title at WrestleMania 39 even prior to Vince McMahon’s return.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer would state:

“Reigns winning was always the plan, although it was kept secret and almost nobody knew.”

WWE has released a behind-the-scenes video showing how their amazing WrestleMania 39 entrances came to life.

During the video Logan Paul reveals that WWE initially rejected his proposal to enter WrestleMania 39 via zipline and he had to convince them to let him perform the eye catching feat.

WWE Stock Hits All Time High Following UFC Merger, Surpasses $100!

The good news for WWE following its deal with Endeavor just keeps on coming.

In response to the news of Endeavor’s acquisition of the WWE, WWE’s stock price rose to a four-year high of $97.23 by the time the market closed on April 4th.

Since then, the price has continued to rise and closed at $100.38 on April 6th. That day the price hit a record high of $101.03 before dipping slightly.

In a recent leaked letter to WWE talent it was revealed that Vince McMahon believes we are entering the ‘golden age’ of sports entertainment and looking at the stock prices, it’s easy to see why!

Although reports circulated that Randy Orton was eyeing up a WrestleMania 39 return, his on-going back injury us preventing this return with ‘The Viper’ “nowhere near” ready to be medically cleared.

Writing in this morning’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer would provide an update on ‘The Apex Predator’s status:

“Those at WWE noted prior to WrestleMania that Randy Orton’s back injury was nowhere close to allowing him to return to in-ring action.”

Brodus Clay Eyeing Up Potential WWE Return

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tyrus [FKA Brodus Clay] remains hopeful that he’ll get to appear in WWE one more time.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Tyrus admitted that it would be nice to go back to WWE one more time.

“It would be nice to come back and have a one-off or just say goodbye to the fans.

A lot of it has to do with scheduling. I’m pretty busy with Fox, and there are no part-time jobs in the WWE. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.”

Logan Paul Re-Signs With WWE

Following his blockbuster match at WrestleMania 39 against Seth Rollins, Logan Paul was officially a free agent.

It has now been reported that the influencer has re-signed with the WWE after a successful rookie year.

Writing in this morning’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reported that Paul has re-signed with the WWE.

“Logan Paul, when talking about his contract expiring after WrestleMania, did say that he expects to sign a new deal and during the week the talk was that he did sign a new deal.”

Multiple Plans Leaked For Tonight's WWE SmackDown [SPOILERS]

Several reports have leaked plans for tonight’s monumental episode of WWE SmackDown, including a report on the content of Triple H’s address to the ‘WWE Universe’.

Firstly, WRKD Wrestling have reported that Roman Reign’s will not be in attendance at tonight’s SmackDown however a segment between Jey Uso and Paul Heyman will continue to build tensions within The Bloodline.

“Currently, Roman Reigns is not scheduled for #Smackdown tomorrow night, but there is slated to be a segment that leads to further tension between Paul Heyman and Jey Uso.”

WRKD Wrestling has also revealed, in a separate report, that LA Knight and Xavier Woods are set for a segment during tonight’s show, however they point out that WWE is currently ‘volatile’ creatively with plans ‘changing on a whim’ and therefore plans may change ahead of tonight’s show.

“LA Knight is currently slated to be featured on #SmackDown tomorrow in a segment with Xavier Woods.”

Finally, Fight Fans has reported that Triple H’s ‘address to the WWE Universe’ will simply be a repeat/rephrasing of his promo during this weeks episode of RAW.

“One of our sources has indicated that The Game will be largely reiterating on the FOX Network what he said on Monday’s episode of WWE RAW.”

SmackDown’s home on FOX is on free TV whereas US (home to RAW) is on cable, so the promo tonight will be for the benefit of those who may have missed it during Monday Night Raw.

Although no official approach was made, there were reportedly talks within WWE about making a sensational bid for a current AEW star.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE discussed trying to bring Christian back to team with Edge, although there is no word on whether a deal would actually be possible.

“Behind-the-scenes there was talk of Edge and Christian wanting to team together for one last time or run but we don’t know Christian’s contract length and if it would be possible.”

In a match that many, including Dave himself, called one of, if not the, greatest WWE women’s match of all time, Rhea Ripley dethroned ‘The Queen’ to capture the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Brock Lesnar appears to have unfinished business with the UFC roster.

Current UFC Fighter Gilbert Burns has commented on WWE’s merger with the UFC and used the opportunity to send a clear warning to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar should the two ever come face-to-face.

Speaking during a press conference ahead of UFC 287, Burns stated:

“It’s a good opportunity to slap Brock Lesnar in the face. I never met [Brock]. He’s lucky I never met him. I want to slap him because he cannot push DC [Daniel Cormier] like that when he came all the way there in the Octagon. I want to slap him in the face.” [H/t to Sportskeeda]

Roman Reigns Set To Miss WWE Backlash

Following the news that Charlotte Flair will be taking another break from the WWE, news has now broken that WWE will be without another of the companies biggest stars for their Backlash PPV in Puerto Rice next month.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer would note that as of Monday there are no plans for Roman Reigns to be in San Juan with WWE in May however he is slated for a number of major events over the next few months.

Meltzer also noted that the upcoming match between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar will headline either Backlash or the upcoming Saudi Arabia show.

WWE talent were unsurprisingly concerned when news of the WWE sale broke on Monday morning alongside reports that Vince McMahon had returned to the company just six months after his official departure.

It was then revealed that during a WWE staff meeting, Nick Khan read a letter from Vince McMahon ensuring talent that nothing would change and that this was a positive move for the company.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now leaked the full letter to talent which even goes so far as to state that WWE is moving into a ‘golden age’ for sports entertainment.

Sami Zayn vs Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania 38 may not have been rated by Dave Meltzer, but Logan Paul’s WrestleMania return certainly has.

Logan Paul and Seth Rollins clashed on night one of WrestleMania 39 in an impressive showcase for the ‘Impaulsive’ host, complete with a zip wire entrance and KSI cameo (prior to his racism controversy in the following days).

The main spot of the match saw KSI take a diving elbow drop through the announce table from his Prime co-owner before Rollins would pick up the win.

Taking a quick break from the WrestleMania 39 ratings (we will be sprinkling them throughout this morning, don’t worry.), it was revealed last night that WWE star Chelsea Green has been hospitalised ahead of SmackDown.

The returning WWE star took to Twitter to inform fans that she has been hospitalised with a “severe stomach bug & a distended gall bladder.”

A distended gall bladder is medical condition where the gallbladder becomes inflamed, swollen or enlarged causing it to no longer work correctly.  When the gallbladder becomes distended, it can cause pain, nausea, and vomiting and in some extreme cases can lead to the gallbladder rupturing (although on in very extreme circumstances).

Wrestling stars from across WWE and AEW took to Twitter to wish Green well and ‘The Empress’ Asuka took the opportunity to challenge WWE’s new ‘Karen’ to a fight!
