A tearful Liv Morgan cut a promo on SmackDown just for the newly returned fans in attendance, telling them that she is more than capable of winning Money In The Bank.
Morgan was entered into the women’s Money In The Bank match as a result of reshuffling due to Bayley’s serious knee injury. Bayley was originally SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair’s opponent for Money In The Bank with the two women set to face off in an I Quit match. With Bayley’s injury ruling her out of that match, Sonya Deville took Carmella out of the women’s Money In The Bank match to face Belair instead. That match took place on SmackDown rather than at the pay-per-view with The EST Of WWE coming out on top after delivering the K.O.D.
With a place in the women’s Money In The Bank match now up for grabs Liv Morgan made her feelings known to Deville, saying she was unhappy that Deville was simply placing Carmella in the title match after originally giving her a place in the Money In The Bank match. Sonya Deville fired back telling Morgan that she was going to replace Carmella in the match.
Morgan has been on a winning streak recently winning her last three matches. Two of them came against Carmella with her most recent win coming against the returning Zelina Vega, who is also in the women’s Money In The Bank match. Vega and Morgan were on commentary on SmackDown during the tag team match between Nox and Shotzi and Natalya and Tamina.
During a commercial break, Liv Morgan was interviewed by Megan Morant where she gave an emotional interview, saying:
“I have worked and fought week after week to prove that I’m ready, willing, and quite capable of winning that Money in the Bank briefcase. I think it’s time that I finally get what I deserve. And trust me, Megan, luck has absolutely nothing to do with it. This weekend, the WWE Universe is finally and fully going to watch me.”

This led to the packed crowd in Houston showering Morgan with a “You Deserve It” chant that made Morgan even more emotional.
