Exclusive: Liv Morgan Reflects On Surreal WWE Title Victory: “A Real Pinch Me Moment”

Liv Morgan Reflects On Surreal WWE Title Victory:

Liv Morgan has looked back on the night she picked up a victory over one of the greatest women’s wrestlers of all time.

Prior to being sidelined with injury in 2023, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez reigned as the Women’s Tag Team Champions. To kick off their first reign as champions, Morgan and Rodriguez defeated Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus, who served as a last-minute replacement for Lita as the WWE Hall of Famer was attacked backstage earlier in the night.

Like many stars of today, Morgan was heavily inspired by Stratus and looked to follow in the footsteps of the 7-time Women’s Champion. While a match against Stratus was something that Morgan never believed to be possible, the Women’s World Champion was even more shocked that she would win a championship of the legendary women’s wrestler.

Speaking with Kenny McIntosh for issue 51 of Inside The Ropes Magazine, Morgan spoke about her surreal match with the Hall of Famer:

Oh, for sure. That was actually my second time in the ring with Trish. But it’s safe to say I never conceivably thought that I’d be wrestling against Trish Stratus, let alone win a championship off her. A lot of my moveset early on was very Trish Stratus-inspired. So when I gave myself a moment to really appreciate what it was that I was doing, it really was a pinch me moment. These moments that you never thought you’d have, and all of a sudden here you are face to face with them and you’re just like, whoa, how did we get here? How did we finesse this?

Liv Morgan Looks Back On Becky Lynch Rivalry

Currently reigning as the Women’s World Champion, Morgan defeated Lynch to become a 2-time Women’s Champion. During the same interview, Liv Morgan gave her thoughts on Becky Lynch’s legacy in professional wrestling.

Also in the interview, Liv Morgan looked back on a major missed opportunity in WWE.
