Liv Morgan has been absent from WWE since the May 12th episode of SmackDown when she teamed with Raquel Rodriguez to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles against Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.
During the match, Morgan suffered a shoulder injury and this meant that she and Rodriguez had to vacate their titles. Rodriguez went on to team with Shotzi in an effort to regain the gold, but the titles were won by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.
It has since been reported that WWE believes that Morgan’s injury may require surgery, and there’s no word on when she’ll be back in the ring.
During the UpUpDownDown live stream on June 3rd, Morgan took on ma.çé, and referenced her “torn shoulder.”
“I’m sitting at home with my torn shoulder and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m really excited to win the UpUpDownDown Champion, I’m excited to beat ma.ce, and his kid just happened to have a recital.’ I’d like to see the footage of this recital, I’m just saying. You sent your friends out, but even with one shoulder, I’m still going to beat you. One shoulder, no shoulder, it doesn’t matter.”
Liv Morgan Lands New Movie Role
Although she might not be back in a WWE ring anytime soon, Liv Morgan is still going to be hard at work in her absence. It has been confirmed that Morgan and Charlotte Flair will both be involved in a new movie profiling the life and career of Mildred Burke. The film will be based on the book Queen of the Ring by Jeff Leen. It is being produced by Aimee Schoof and Isen Robbins and is written and directed by Ash Avildsen.
