Though well received by fans in attendance, one WWE Hall of Famer wasn’t a fan of Liv Morgan’s promo on Raw.
Liv Morgan had arguably the best night of her career at Money in the Bank, winning the titular ladder match in the opening of the show. Despite a backstage promo in which she said she needed to bide her time before cashing in the contract because she only had one chance at success, she went on to cash in later that same night after Ronda Rousey’s leg was injured in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Natalya.
Though Rousey countered Morgan’s initial attack, the cash-in was ultimately successful and Liv Morgan became the new SmackDown Women’s Champion, her first taste of gold in WWE.
The next night on Raw, Liv addressed the Raw crowd in celebration before being interrupted by Natalya and Carmella. Fans in attendance loudly cheered “You deserve it,” and Liv countered with the declaration, “We deserve it!”

Despite the positive crowd response, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray wasn’t a fan of the promo. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, he criticized the promo for sounding too memorized.
“I didn’t think it was a strong promo from her. But I will say this, the people were behind her, at first, but then it started to trail off a bit. I believe she was trying to memorize a promo last night – they’re never going to hand Liv Morgan a microphone and say, ‘Here’s five minutes, go say whatever the hell you want to say.’ Unfortunately, when I hear Liv talk last night, I feel like I’m watching somebody who’s playing a pro wrestler as opposed to being a pro wrestler.”
Continuing, Bully Ray says that he wants to see the new champion come off as more intimidating than she does.
“This whole, ‘We did it guys, if it wasn’t for you guys, you guys got me all the way through,’ it’s uber babyface, chase-the-hug stuff and I understand why they do it. But, I want to see Liv come out there and stand on her own two feet – verbally and physically.”
Bully Ray wasn’t the only one to criticize Liv Morgan in recent days as former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas doesn’t believe her cash-in made her look like a babyface. However, many members of the roster were full of adulation for the star and congratulated her after the Premium Live Event on Saturday night.
