After a Fatal-Five-Way Elimination Match on Friday Night SmackDown, Liv Morgan now has a new challenger for the SmackDown Women’s Title.
At WWE Clash At The Castle Liv Morgan successfully defended her SmackDown Women’s Title against Shayna Baszler. Despite Morgan appearing in trouble at numerous stages she eventually pulled out the win to extend her fairy-tale run at the top of the blue brand’s women’s division.
However, her victory left the star without a challenger for Extreme Rules. To remedy this, SmackDown featured a Fatal-Five-Way Elimination Match to decide a new number one contender.
The match featuring Ronda Rousey, Xia Li, Natalya, Lacey Evans and Sonya Deville was over almost as quickly as it started with Rousey imposing her will straight from the opening bell.
The former UFC star made short work of eliminating Natalya with an Arm Bar before she also dispatched Lacey Evans at the same time as Deville eliminated Xia Li. With only Deville and Rousey left, the match shifted into more of an MMA-style contest, but again, Deville wasn’t a match for the former champion tapping out to an Arm Bar.

With victory Rousey booked herself a rematch with Morgan at Extreme Rules. Liv Morgan defeated Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Title at Money In The Bank after earlier winning the Money In The Bank briefcase.
At SummerSlam, Rousey attempted to regain her title but was defeated in controversial circumstances. After the match the former champion was fined and suspended, before finally being reinstated on September 2nd.
