Lilian Garcia Makes Surprise Appearance On WWE Raw

Lillian Garcia

Legendary ring announcer Lilian Garcia returned to WWE on a recent episode of Raw.

Appearing on the May 13th episode of Raw in Greenville, South Carolina, Garcia was introduced by Samantha Irvin and received a great ovation from the live fans in attendance. Irvin asked Garcia if she could help her announce the participants for the next match, to which Garcia gladly accepted and added that Irvin was amazing, doing an incredible job and that she was so proud of her.

Not missing a step and still sounding great, Garcia introduced Kofi Kingston, who was competing in a King of the Ring quarterfinal match against Gunther.

Earlier in the day on social media, Garcia posted multiple clips on her story that she was at the venue for Raw.

Lilian Garcia’s Trailblazing WWE Tenure

First joining the company back in 1999, Garcia would eventually take over lead ring announce duties from Howard Finkel on Raw. The WWE legend would also make history as Garcia was the first female ring announcer at WrestleMania. Along with her ring-announcing skills, Garcia is also a very talented singer and has performed on TV on numerous occasions. Back in 2001, Garcia sang The Star Spangled Banner on the first episode of SmackDown after the 9/11 attacks in a very emotional opening to the show.

Garcia’s first run with the company ended in 2009 but returned in 2011 and served as ring announcer for SmackDown until 2016 when she stepped away from her role as her father was battling cancer. Garcia would continue to make sporadic appearances for the company including at Tribute To The Troops specials and at the 2018 all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution.

The next day, Lilian Garcia detailed how the appearance took place.
