Lights Out Match Added To Next Week’s AEW Rampage

By Lyle Kilbane. Published 18th September 2021.
AEW Rampage Grand Slam

AEW Rampage Grand Slam is set to be a stacked show as AEW’s Friday night’s offering goes to two hours with a Lights Out match now added to the card.

The war between Jon Moxley and Minoru Suzuki looks set to continue in the Big Apple after Suzuki confronted Moxley again on AEW Dynamite. The King’s Suzuki-Gun teammate Lance Archer joined him as the two men took the fight to Moxley and Eddie Kingston.

It has now been announced that Moxley will compete in yet another Lights Out match in the company as he teams with Kingston to face Suzuki and Archer at AEW Rampage Grand Slam.

The two-hour spectacular on Friday night will also see the AEW World Tag Team Champions The Lucha Brothers team with Inner Circle’s Santana and Ortiz to face The Hardy Family Office of Private Party, The Butcher, and The Blade.

Anna Jay has had to deal with a thorn in the side in the form of Penelope Ford since her return to AEW and the two women will go one-on-one. Following Chris Jericho’s confrontation with American Top Team’s Dan Lambert on Dynamite, The Demo-God will team with Jake Hager to face The Men Of The Year, Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky.

AEW Rampage Grand Slam also sees The Superkliq reunite as Adam Cole teams with The Young Bucks for the first time in over four and a half years as they take on IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Jungle Boy.

CM Punk will also compete in his first free-to-air televised match in over seven years as he takes on Team Taz’s strongman, Powerhouse Hobbs.

The event will air two days after AEW Grand Slam on Wednesday night which will see the dream match between Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson take place in what will be Danielson’s in-ring debut for the company.
