Lex Luger Under Contract With WWE

Lex Luger Under Contract With WWE

Lex Luger has confirmed his contract status with WWE and expressed his current enjoyment of the wrestling industry.

Lex Luger, known for his stints in both WWE and WCW, made headlines when he defected from WWE to WCW on the first episode of WCW Nitro, kickstarting the legendary Monday Night Wars. Now, Luger has joined the AdFreeShows family of podcasts with his new monthly podcast, Lex Expressed, exclusively available on the Patreon platform.

During the inaugural episode of Lex Expressed, Luger revealed that he is still under contract with WWE as an ambassador. He spoke highly of the ambassador program and the involvement he has behind the scenes with the company.

Well, of course, I’m still an ambassador, which is a great program with WWE. They have some things they send us out on and we’re involved with behind the scenes,

Luger also emphasised his newfound perspective as a wrestling fan, stating that he feels more connected to the wrestling family now than he did during his active wrestling career.

I’m a fan now. I feel like more part of the wrestling family now than I did when I was wrestling,

Expressing his love for both AEW and WWE, Luger made it clear that he enjoys watching the current wrestling landscape. Despite being under contract with WWE, he stated that he feels like a fan and appreciates the generational impact of wrestling. Luger mentioned the special bond he shares with wrestling fans and how he feels like he has come full circle.

I feel like I’ve come full circle. When I go to the comic cons and the fans come up and they bring their kids and they say, ‘Hey, this is who I watched when I was your age,’ it’s generational. Wrestling fans, I don’t know how else to explain it, they’re just special, and I feel like I’m a fan now.

I watch what’s happening in AEW and WWE, even though I’m under contract with WWE, I love it. I’m like going from being a performer to a wrestling fan now and I feel like I’m part of that special family.

Does Lex Luger Still Wrestle?

Lex Luger retired from in-ring competition in 2006, Luger has faced physical challenges in recent years and often uses a wheelchair for mobility. However, he has expressed his desire to walk across the stage for his WWE Hall of Fame induction.

Luger has had a reputation in the past for being hard to get along with and Eric Bischoff commented on Luger recently stating that “nobody shed a tear when Lex Luger left [WCW].” However, in recent years Luger has mended a lot of bridges with his wrestling compatriots and now has a lot of people that sing his praises.

Also on the podcast, Lex Lugar addressed the rumours regarding himself and the WWE Championship.
