Former WWE and WCW wrestler Lex Luger has addressed the tragic passing of Miss Elizabeth and how fans still hold him responsible for what happened to her.

In May 2003, Elizabeth passed away at the age of 42. The cause of death was determined as an accidental overdose involving vodka and painkillers Soma and Loritabs. The legendary manager was in a relationship with Lex Luger at that point and the overdose occurred in Luger’s home.

With the couple previously having a domestic dispute and with Luger’s history of substance abuse, fans have held Luger accountable for Elizabeth’s sudden passing. In a recent interview, the topic was addressed.

Lex Luger Admits He Was A Contributing Factor To Miss Elizabeth’s Death

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Luger was asked why he did not come to WWE after WCW closed down. After first stating that he was still under contract with Time Warner for 3 more years, Luger elaborated on why he did not sign with WWE when that contract expired. Luger also brought up the death of Miss Elizabeth and how fans believe he was the one who killed her:

“After that, everything happened. I got messed up on the wine and women, I had too much time and money on my hands. Got messed up on drugs and alcohol, and had a period where I was a complete train wreck. The tragic passing of Elizabeth. Obviously people go, ‘Well, he killed Elizabeth.’ Well, I didn’t kill her. But was I a contributing factor to the lifestyle I was living and her being around me all the time and she overdosed? Absolutely.”

When Chris Van Vliet asked if Luger took responsibility for what happened to Elizabeth, Luger responded as follows:

“Absolutely. Sure, there’s always collateral damage to lifestyles like that, and she was part of it. So absolutely. Sadly.”

When it was brought up that fans still hold Luger responsible for the passing of Elizabeth, Luger admitted he saw where the fans were coming from:

“No doubt, and I totally understand, I do, yeah. I get it. She was a beloved character, Liz, and I’ll always be tied as part of what happened with her. And I get that I have haters out there. I understand where they’re coming from. I get it.”

Having been confined to a wheelchair since 2007, Lex Luger was recently able to stand after working with DDP.
