Lex Luger is hoping that 2 former World Champions and close friends can join him as part of his upcoming WWE Hall of Fame induction.
On March 7th, news broke that Lex Luger was the latest name confirmed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. The announcement was made by Cody Rhodes, who surprised The Total Package at the DDP Performance Center.
With the ceremony set to take place over WrestleMania weekend, Luger is hoping that 2 names will be able to also be a part of his induction.
Speaking on Eric Bischoff’s 83 Weeks podcast, Luger was asked about who he wanted to induct him, to which the former WCW Champion stated the ultimate would be for Sting and DDP to be by his side:
“Oh, yeah. It’s real short, two guys. I’m trying to get two guys instead of one. I speak at recovery centers and at churches and stuff. I’m not good at scripted, like an iPad outline. I like to just speak from the heart and be extemporaneous, speak when I speak. So I’m like, well, guys, can I have…has anybody had two guys? Because I’ll probably want to do just a few minutes from my heart when I get up there. DDP and I have been trying to work on the walk. We’re not there yet.
So I go, we’re hoping, but man, if I could have my two guys up there with me, man, DDP on my shoulder kind of spotting me and Sting on the other, if it’s possible. I go, man, that would be amazing. So we shall see. If I have anything to say about that, that would be my pick. That would be, for me, the ultimate. That would be pretty cool, that would be amazing. For me, at least.”
Lex Luger Details Increased Quality Of Life After Working With DDP
After both Lex Luger and DDP were in attendance for Sting’s last match at AEW Revolution 2024, Diamond Dallas Page has been working with Luger to help him increase his mobility. Luger has been confined to a wheelchair ever since an accident that took place back in 2007.
In a recent update via DDP, Lex Luger is now able to stand out of his wheelchair. The future WWE Hall of Famer also recently gave more insight into how his quality of life has since improved:
“Well, everything from being able to stand up and brush my teeth instead of being over the sink trying to. There’s things we take for granted, getting off of my chair into the shower. In the morning, you’re showering, you’re going to the bathroom, you brush your teeth. When you’re sitting it’s challenging and even to safely get from your chair to a toilet or anything. So just everyday functional stuff. I heat my coffee up in the morning, I could stand up and put it in the microwave now, I couldn’t do that. I was trying to reach, I was spilling coffee everywhere.
So, things you think about. When I go to the grocery store now. I had to wait and my grocery store guys would know me. They see me pull up and they bring me out the power cart. Now I can get the power cart myself with stuff. So, I mean everything. I can shop again. I can go through my day with you. My quality of life and my function has increased dramatically. So it’s amazing.”
