Lex Luger has reassured the fans after being notably absent from the WWE Hall of Fame segment at WrestleMania 41.
On April 18th, Luger was inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. Accompanied by DDP, The Total Package stood out of his wheelchair to accept his induction in front of his peers.
The next night at WrestleMania, fellow Hall of Fame inductees including Michelle McCool, Bret Hart, Steve Austin and Triple H all made their way on the entrance ramp to be congratulated by the fans in attendance. However, with Luger not appearing for the segment, some were concerned by his absence.
Appearing with DDP on The Ariel Helwani Show, Luger elaborated on his absence:
“It’s wild how that stuff catches fire. With all that happened, the next day on Saturday, I could hardly get out of bed. I called the guys and they were cool about it. They said, ‘Look, we’d love to have you down there. Let’s see how you feel later in the day,’ but it was obvious by later in the afternoon that I wasn’t going to be able to get out there,”
DDP added more information, noting that they are based on the East Coast and the Hall of Fame started at 10 pm on the West Coast, equating to 1 am their local time. The ceremony went on into the night and did not finish until the early hours of the morning. Both Luger and DDP reiterated that they wanted to be at the show.
