Lex Luger Calls For Overlooked WWE Legend To Receive Hall Of Fame Induction

WWE Hall of Famer Lex Luger

Lex Luger would love to see this WWE icon inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Often cited as the template for a wrestling love story, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth captured the hearts of wrestling fans in the 1980’s. Elizabeth often accompanied Savage to the ring and was seen as the epitome of class, wearing luxurious evening gowns and balancing out the frenetic personality of her husband.

Elizabeth later aligned with Lex Luger both on and off screen, and speaking in a new interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda, Luger was asked if he believes Elizabeth deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as many consider her a notable omission. Luger made it clear that he believes she’s absolutely worth of a Hall of Fame induction, stating:

“Oh, absolutely! For sure, Bill. Yeah. She was the first, I mean, what an impact she had, especially in the 80s. Oh my gosh! Huge! Absolutely (when Bill chimed in, saying Miss Elizabeth was a classy lady).” (h/t Sportskeeda)

Elizabeth tragically passed away in 2003 at the young age of 42 from an accidental overdose involving alcohol and prescription medication. She was in a volatile relationship with Luger at the time, and in another recent interview, Luger spoke about taking accountability for Elizabeth’s tragic death.

Lex Luger Will Enter The WWE Hall Of Fame In 2025

On March 7th, news broke that Lex Luger was the latest name confirmed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. The announcement was made by Cody Rhodes, who surprised The Total Package at the DDP Performance Center.

Luger’s career was heavily entwined with Sting’s during their days in WCW, and many fans would love to see The Icon return to WWE to induct his friend into the Hall of Fame. However, Sting remains under contract to All Elite Wrestling, leading to speculation as to whether or not he is contractually allowed to appear in WWE.

Tony Khan recently addressed the possibility of Sting appearing at the WWE Hall of Fame, saying he hasn’t spoken with The Icon about making an appearance.
