Two former WWE champions have finally reunited after a long gap.
Last seen together on Backlash 2024, Kairi Sane and Asuka, known as The Kabuki Warriors, suffered a devastating loss against Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill and lost their Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Soon after the loss, both the former champions went on hiatus. While Sane came back a few months ago, ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ recently made her return ahead of the Queen of the Ring Tournament. However, despite their presence on the same RAW roster for the past few weeks, the duo hadn’t crossed paths on television.
Tonight, on the July 7 episode of RAW, after Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez launched an ambush on Kairi Sane following her victory over Perez, it was her former tag partner, Asuka, who made the save. Reuniting after a span of almost 14 months, fans witnessed the two Japanese stars come together to re-form the legendary Kabuki Warriors tag team.
A WWE Hall Of Famer Wants Asuka As Their Tag-Team Partner
A few days ago, while speaking on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio opened up on his desire to see the Mixed Tag Team Match challenge return, and potentially partner up with Asuka in the process.
I do wish they’d do a little bit more Mixed Tag Matches. I really enjoy those. I think that gets really creative when it comes down to seeing your favorite female superstar and favorite male superstar. I know we’re a little bit sensitive with a man putting his hands on a woman, so we’re trying to stay away from that.”
“I’ll tell you what, I’d probably go with Asuka.”
