Legendary Star Seen Backstage In WWE 14 Years After Walking Out

Former WWE made a shocking debut

An iconic wrestling figure returned to WWE’s backstage area years after her infamous walkout 14 years ago.

Gail Kim is one of those former superstars who gained notoriety for how they exited the Stamford-based promotion. In the legend’s case, she walked out in the middle of a match due to frustrations over her bookings in 2011. She then returned to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where she worked for more than a decade before getting fired. After parting ways with TNA, the former Women’s Champion might have already landed a new role.

According to Fightful Select, Gail Kim was backstage at NXT this week, but it wasn’t the first time she was present at the brand. However, she is still not part of the Stamford-based company. The report added that there has been immediate interest from several companies following her TNA firing in March, mainly from WWE and AEW.

It was also noted that the Stamford-based promotion has been interested in bringing Gail Kim on board since she became a free agent, but kept her presence at shows quiet.

If the reports are true, it’s not the first time the TNA Hall of Famer appeared on NXT. During Battleground 2024, she was spotted in the audience.

Gail Kim Isn’t Confident About Getting Inducted Into The WWE Hall of Fame

Although Gail Kim is one of the most praised names in women’s wrestling, with her legacy being honored in TNA’s Hall of Fame, she thinks it’s not enough to earn a spot in the Stamford-based promotion’s HOF.

In an October 2024 signing for K & S WrestlingFest, Gail Kim said she thinks she wouldn’t go into the WWE Hall of Fame when asked by a fan. She noted that most of her career, accomplishments, and legacy were in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. She added the following about the matter:

I don’t know [if I’ll get into the WWE Hall of Fame]. I just know it [the question] makes me uncomfortable [laughs]… Of course, you wanna be recognized, right? I mean, in all honesty, of course you wanna be recognized for your passion, for your hard work and everything. That would have to be a bridge we’d cross if and when if that ever happened but, yeah.”

It remains to be seen if Gail Kim will be part of WWE in the future.
