WWE look to be paying homage to ECW in more ways than one with their upcoming NXT taping.
With US Election coverage set to dominate the airwaves on Tuesday, November 5th, NXT has elected to broadcast its weekly show one day later, meaning that the show will also go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. Announced ahead of time, NXT will host the show live from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, the site of some of the biggest ECW shows in the history of the hardcore promotion. Looking to make the night one to remember, a notable ECW original and WWE Hall of Famer could be appearing onscreen.
As seen on the event listing on the 2300 Arena website, 8-time ECW Tag Team Champion Bubba Ray Dudley will be at the venue as part of a Meet and Greet for VIP ticket holders. It is unknown at this time if the Hall of Famer will be just participating in the meet and greet portion or if he will make an appearance on the broadcast. Bubba Ray last appeared at WrestleMania 40 as the special referee for the match between The Final Testament and Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits.
