AEW’s Lee Moriarty has paid an emotional tribute to his one-year-old nephew who was tragically killed after being caught up in a drive-by shooting.

With an in-ring career that began in 2015, Lee Moriarty has proven himself to be one of the hottest young talents in the entire wrestling world. Moriarty made his name on the independent scene and has made stops in the likes of IMPACT Wrestling, Ring of Honor, GCW, and MLW.

In August 2021, Lee Moriarty began appearing in matches for AEW and he later signed a deal with the company in October the same year. Wrestling primarily on the company’s YouTube shows Moriarty has made a few appearances on Dynamite, most notably wrestling CM Punk and most recently teaming with Brock Anderson and Dante Martin in a losing effort against the Blackpool Combat Club.

Sadly, Lee Moriarty has taken to social media to share the unspeakably tragic news that his one-year-old nephew has been killed following a drive-by shooting:

“My nephew was 1 years old and his life was taken in a drive-by yesterday. I don’t share things from my personal life often but he deserves to be acknowledged for the great person he was growing to become. Miss you Im muting this and I’d prefer no messages. Thank you.”

Gun violence continues to be a persistent problem in the United States with several high-profile mass shootings recently taking place. Many stars of the wrestling world spoke out following the senseless killing of several children and teachers at a school in Texas.

Everybody at Inside The Ropes sends their condolences to Lee Moriarty and his family at this incredibly difficult time.
