The ratings are in for the Tuesday May 11th episode of NXT.
As noted by ShowBuzzDaily, 697,000 people tuned in to the black and gold brand. With a 0.17 rating in the key 18-49 year-old demographic.
This is down on the previous week where the show pulled in 761,000 fans.
By comparison, the episode of AEW Dynamite from May 5th, drew 1.090 million viewers, with a 0.42 rating in the key 18-49 year old demographic. The rating meant that AEW were the number one ranked show on cable for the first time in their history.
The latest episode of NXT saw NXT Champion Karrion Kross learn the name of the first challenger for his recently won title. Following the champion’s demolition of Austin Theory he was once again confronted by Finn Balor. Kross defeated The Prince to win NXT’s top prize at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
The pair will clash once more on May 25th.
Meanwhile, NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez defended her title for the first time against Mercedez Martinez. In a predictably physical contest the two women brawled from the opening bell. Gonzalez eventually picked up the victory with a one-armed Powerbomb.
The show was main-evented by a Two Out Of Three Falls match between Kushida and Santos Escobar for the NXT Cruiserweight Title. Escobar claimed the first fall with a Phantom Driver, but was immediately caught in the Hoverboard Lock, causing him to tap out and level the score. The contest swung back and forth with the combatants trading near falls. Kushida finally retained his title after landing a bridging suplex on the challenger.
The May 11th episode, the world was also formally introduced to Isaiah “Swerve” Scott’s new stable Hit Row. The group is made up of Scott, Ashante Thee Adonis, AJ Francis, now known as Top Dolla and Briana Brandy, under the name B-FAB.
It has also been announced that Franky Monet will make her “world premiere” in two weeks time.
