Latest Update On Oba Femi’s Current WWE Status

Oba Femi WWE

Oba Femi has been absent for almost the past two months.

At WWE Halloween Havoc 2024 on 27th October, Tony D’Angelo defeated Oba Femi to retain the NXT North American Championship. Since his loss, a couple of months ago, Femi has been missing from television.

However, as per the latest reports, there might be nothing to worry about. The latest update from Fightful Select notes that Femi has neither left NXT nor the Stamford-based promotion. Rumors about his parting ways with the promotion have now been debunked.

Instead, Femi has been reportedly enjoying some off-time in his home country of Nigeria. He has also not been dealing with any injury or visa-related issues. Although, no exact date has been shared for his return timeline. Fightful Select’s sources suggested that it would be ‘sooner rather than later’.

Femi has repeatedly impressed the NXT officials, including multiple producers and Shawn Michaels. Chief Content Officer Triple H is also reportedly a big fan of Femi, and sources suggested that they would be shocked if the promotion did not extend the contract that he signed in 2021. Although, when asked about his contract status, it was met with uncertainty.

Fans have been waiting to see their favorite star return for some time, and NXT Deadline 2024 could be a good place for him to come back.

Oba Femi’s Long-Running Streak Was Broken At WWE NXT

On the October 8th episode of NXT, fans saw Tony D’Angelo keep Femi down for the three-count. Before his title loss, Femi also completed his run as the longest-reining North American Champion.

However, as Tony D’Angelo defeated the former champion, he also broke one of Oba Femi’s dominant streak.
