Here is the latest update on Chelsea Green’s WWE contract status.
Last year in December, Green became the first-ever women’s United States Champion. However, despite her run as the reigning champion, Green missed out on being featured on the WrestleMania 41 match card. Soon, on the next SmackDown episode after Mania, Green lost her title to Zelina Vega.
Recently, just hours before the 2nd May episode of SmackDown, WWE released several main-roster and NXT superstars from their contracts. While the news dropped, fans started connecting the news with one of Chelsea Green’s recent ‘farewell’ message.
However, crushing all such speculations, Fightful Select recently noted that Green is now under a new multiple-year deal with the company. Green had previously signed her last deal in late 2022, which was due to expire later in 2025. However, before the expiration date came, Green put pen to paper on a new deal. Although the exact length of her new contract is not known.
Green initially signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2018 and was then released in 2021, but later returned in the 2023 Royal Rumble and has since then been an essential part of the roster. Green is a former women’s tag-team champion and women’s United States Champion.
Chelsea Green Reveals Original Plans For Her WWE US Title Victory
In a conversation with Click and Tell, Chelsea Green opened up on the original plans for her Women’s United States Championship victory.
“Originally, it was supposed to be in Vancouver (at Survivor Series 2024). That was obviously going to be, I mean, for so many different reasons, the biggest moment of my career. It was already going to be the biggest moment, but to have my friends and family there and for it to be in somewhat of my hometown, close enough to my hometown, like that’s unheard of. People don’t get those moments.”
In other news: Cody Rhodes’ WWE return date is possibly out.
