More reports have emerged about Becky Lynch’s new rumored WWE contract.
Earlier this year, Lynch had her final match in WWE against Liv Morgan in a losing effort on the May 27 episode of WWE RAW. Since then, Lynch has updated her status as a free agent after her contract expired.
Rumored to be taking a break from wrestling, recently new rumors emerged about her potential new agreement with the Stamford-based promotion. As per Jonathan Coachman’s comments on his Backstage Pass show, TKO did not agree with Lynch’s reported ask of $2 million per year salary.
However, a new report from Fightful Select noted that multiple sources in WWE have dismissed those rumors. Reportedly, Lynch and the promotion are on good terms, as her former company respected her decision to take time off.
Further, Fightful Select also reported that, while sources denied the $2 million salary claims, the promotion could have gone with the number if demanded. The report states:
The general pay scale for talent at the top or near the top of WWE and AEW are both well beyond that amount now. Lynch’s contract would be well beyond 2M a year.
As reported previously, the two parties are expected to work together soon.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Names Becky Lynch In One Of Her Proudest WWE Moments
In an interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, former NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton shared one of her proudest moments in the company.
Yeah, I would say my match at No Mercy with Becky Lynch. That whole day was just so hectic for me. I was so nervous. It was my second Street Fight or Extreme Rules Match or whatever you want to call it. Hardcore match. It was my second one of those. So, so nervous going into that. Like I said, the whole day was so hectic and it was probably, I think it was one of my longest matches of my career and just the things that I did in that match alone.
Like I didn’t even know I could do half that stuff. Going into that, it was very nerve-wracking. But I’m very proud of that match. I’m very proud of the way that I handled it. I kept up in the ring with Becky Lynch.”
Last year at NXT No Mercy, Lynch defeated Stratton to retain the Women’s Championship in an Extreme Rules match. Despite the loss, the match earned Stratton significant popularity and respect.
