The 6th of December edition of Monday Night Raw has recorded the lowest ever demo rating recorded for WWE’s flagship show.
Wrestling fans of a certain vintage will remember ratings as the be-all and end-all in the battle for supremacy during the much-vaunted Monday Night Wars of the late nineties. With the advent of AEW in 2019, the number of viewers tuning in to watch their favourite wrestling show has become the hot topic in the wrestling world once again.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics has reported that Monday Night Raw recently drew their lowest 18-49 demo rating ever recorded with a number of 0.35 equating to 462,000 viewers. The overall viewership for the show that was headlined by WWE Champion Big E defeating Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage was 1,599,000 which is the ninth-lowest total viewership on record.
The third hour has been historically the weakest ratings-wise for Raw and this week’s edition was no different. The total viewership for the 10 pm hour dipped to 1.494 million with an 18-49 demo rating of 0.33.
In addition to the Big E and Kevin Owens main event, fans tuning into the 1,489th edition of Monday Night Raw also saw Becky Lynch retain her Raw Women’s Championship against Liv Morgan. The United States Championship was also on the line as Damian Priest successfully defended his gold against Robert Roode.
The RK-Bro-Nament also got underway as RK-Bro look for new number one contenders for their Raw Tag Team Championship. The Mysterios and The Street Profits both advanced to the final where they will face each other for the opportunity to take on Randy Orton and Riddle.
