Latest Attempt To Remove Vince McMahon From WWE Projects

Vince McMahon on WWE Raw

According to a new report, WWE is trying to scrub Vince McMahon from WWE 2K24.

On January 25th, Wall Street Journal reported that former WWE employee Janel Grant had filed a new lawsuit against Vince McMahon. The lawsuit contains horrifying allegations and graphic descriptions of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking at the hands of McMahon and former Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis.

The suit is seeking to void a previous NDA and for an unspecified amount of financial damages. This is the latest in allegations about McMahon that began back in 2022 when it was reported that the WWE Chairman paid $12 million in hush money to four women. It was later reported that the NDA’s were signed without the knowledge of WWE.

On January 26th, Vince McMahon resigned from all duties with TKO and WWE while continuing to deny the allegations against him.

Wall Street Journal reported on February 2nd that Vince McMahon is being federally investigated as a result of the sex trafficking claims. Laurinaitis, who was fired in 2022 amidst the investigation into alleged misconduct, now claims that he was also a victim of McMahon.

Dave Meltzer Calls It “Impossible” To Erase Vince McMahon From WWE History

The ramifications of the lawsuit extend far beyond McMahon’s resignation as the company attempts to distance themselves from the disgraced former Chairman of the Board. McMahon’s profiles have been removed from WWE and TKO websites, and now it appears further steps are being taken to erase him.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reports that attempts are being made to scrub McMahon from the WrestleMania-centered edition of WWE 2K24. Meltzer said:

“They’re trying to figure out a way to get him out of the video game, which may not be possible.

And probably trying to figure out a way to erase him from history, which is completely impossible.”

While not called out by name in the lawsuit, Wall Street Journal reports that the “former UFC Heavyweight Champion” referenced in some of the trafficking allegations is Brock Lesnar, who was pulled from the Royal Rumble and not expected to return to WWE any time soon amidst the allegations. Lesnar was also removed from WWE Supercard, another game developed by 2K.

In a new update, Brock Lesnar has also been removed from the upcoming WWE title.
