The ratings for the May 19th episode of AEW Dynamite have been revealed.
As reported by Dave Meltzer AEW drew in 821,000 viewers, with a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic.
This is figure is down from the previous week where Dynamite had 936,000 viewers.
By comparison the May 18th episode of NXT pulled in 700,000 viewers.
An action packed episode of Dynamite two titles were on the line as AEW continued to set the stage for Double or Nothing on May 30th.
In the main event The Young Bucks defeated the Varsity Blonds to retain the AEW Tag Team Championships. Despite a spirited performance by Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison, the pair were eventually kept down by a combination of an aerosol can and Brandon Cutler. After the match Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston rushed the ring to leave the champions laying. This led to the announcement that the pair will face The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing.
Earlier in the show Moxley and Kingston saw off The Acclaimed to take their tag team record to 5-0.
Elsewhere NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb defeated Red Velvet to retain her championship. While Christian Cage remains undefeated in AEW after picking up a hard-fought victory over Matt Sydal.
It has been announced that Miro will defend his newly won TNT Championship at AEW Double or Nothing against Lance Archer. Miro also laid down a challenge for the May 25th edition of AEW’s flagship show. It has since been revealed that Miro’s challenger will be Dante Martin.
Tony Schiavone also revealed that Sting will once again join forces with Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing.
After a successful outing at AEW Revolution in March, the face paint adorned duo will face Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page on May 30th.
However, while their victory at Revolution came in a cinematic Street Fight, this time around the match will take place live at Daley’s Place. This means that the contest marks Sting’s first live, in-ring match since 2015.
