Lance Archer has tested positive for COVID-19, the AEW Superstar has announced on Twitter.
In confirming the news, Archer told how a member of his family became unwell when he returned from the last Dynamite tapings. He went on to add that through a friend was looking after his family member who tested positive. He then contracted the virus himself after coming into contact with that person. He closed his statement by saying he feels ok, and that he would be back in a couple of weeks.
This has prompted a huge change for tonight’s AEW Dynamite show. Jon Moxley will now defend the AEW World Championship against Eddie Kingston, Tony Khan confirmed on Twitter.
The original match scheduled for Dynamite was to see AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, Darby Allin and newest AEW signee, Will Hobbs go up against Lance Archer, Brian Cage and Ricky Starks.
Commenting on the change, Moxley took to twitter to say he was putting the AEW World Championship on the line:
Change of plans. I'm putting up the title tonight. Live TV babe. #AEWDynamite

The tweet prompted a response from Eddie Kingston, after which the match was made official. The match builds on the controversy surrounding Eddie Kingston’s elimination from the Casino Battle Royale at AEW’s All Out pay-per-view:
