Lana says she is ready to stand up and speak out on her time in WWE as she is set to launch vlogs on her YouTube channel following her release from the company.
The Ravishing Russian was one of six stars released from their WWE contracts at the beginning of June. Former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman, former NXT Champion Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Buddy Murphy, and NXT star Santana Garrett were also cut for what Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis labelled as budget reasons.
This followed a slew of releases for the second year in a row on April 15th 2021 as the likes of The IIconics, Mickie James, and Kalisto were let go. NXT also shed some of its roster in May with the most high profile name let go from the black and gold brand being former NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream.
Lana released a video on her Instagram where she discussed her upcoming vlogs and added the caption:
“I just wanted to say I love you guys! I can’t wait to spill the tea 😎 Because it’s hot & delicious. I look forward to standing up & speaking out on things that for years I have been silent about. Also excited to talk about @tobemiro & that he is AEW TNT Champion! Please subscribe to my YouTube channel. I will be releasing vlogs starting this Monday”
In the video, Lana adds that she “doesn’t want a billionaire, doesn’t want a Vince McMahon” to determine her destiny. She also adds that she loves wrestling and does not want to give it up as well as dropping the staggering statistic that she wrestled on Raw more than any other woman in WWE in 2020.
Lana’s husband AEW Champion Miro was part of the releases made by WWE on April 15th 2020. Now an established AEW star, the Bulgarian Brute decimated Darby Allin to win his first title in All Elite Wrestling.
