Lacey Evans Sparks Outrage On Social Media With WWE SmackDown Return

Lacey Evans entrance

Lacey Evans returned to action on the January 27th edition of SmackDown, but her performance caught the attention of fans for all of the wrong reasons.

Prior to defeating Jazmin Allure, Evans hadn’t wrestled since the November 11th edition of the blue brand. On that occasion, she competed in a six-pack challenge to crown a new number-one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Prior to that, Evans wrestled twice in September, which in turn were her first matches since July.

In recent weeks a number of vignettes have aired hyping her return and her new character. Leaning on her real-life military background, Evans has been repackaged once again. However, some fans feel her heel antics went too far.

Lacey Evans Slammed On Social Media (Again)

As Evans made her entrance she approached a disabled fan as if to give a high-five before withdrawing her hand and cockily walking away. While some have suggested that the incident was just Evans being a heel, others have hit out at the star. Her actions were described as “disgraceful” and some fans called for her to be fired.

This incident comes a little over a month after Evans came under fire for comments made about autism and ADD. The star shared a video on social media which claimed that ADD and autism “didn’t exist before.”

Evans signed with WWE in 2016 following a career in the United States Marines. After a stint in NXT, Evans arrived on the main roster in 2019 and has appeared on both Raw and SmackDown. Her highest profile storyline to date came in early 2021 when she became aligned with Ric Flair.

Flair managed Evans as she battled his daughter Charlotte, but the storyline came to an abrupt end with Evans announcing she was pregnant in February.

Lacey Evans will be back in action in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
