Lacey Evans Pulled From SmackDown After Not Being Cleared To Compete

Lacey Evans vs Aliyah WWE SmackDown

WWE star Lacey Evans was not cleared to compete in her scheduled match on SmackDown

On the July 22th edition of SmackDown, a singles match between Lacey Evans & Aliyah was scheduled for next week’s show. However, on the day of the show, Aliyah took on Shotzi with the announce team confirming Lacey Evans was not cleared to compete.

No official comment was made by either Evans or a WWE spokesperson. Evans did post a tweet in reference to the match change a couple of hours before the show.

Evans vs. Aliyah was originally set to take place on July 15 and July 22, but both encounters were postponed. The former because Evans chose not to take part of the match and the latter because Evans knocked Aliyah with The Woman’s Right before the bell could ring.

Evans made her return to WWE on April 8th after taking a year off due to her pregnancy with a series of backstage promos talking about her life.

Evans was temporarily drafted to Raw where she cut a single promo before moving back to SmackDown where she made her in-ring return with a victory over Xia Li on June 10.

Evans turned heel on July 8th after turning on the crowd for not cheering enough for her before a scheduled tag match against Shayna Baszler and Shotzi.
