NXT specials always come with high stakes matches but perhaps none have more high stakes than when LA Knight defends the Million Dollar Championship.

LA Knight won the Million Dollar Championship at NXT TakeOver: In Your House in a ladder match against Cameron Grimes. The man who originated the title The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase watched on with pride as Knight unhooked the security case containing the jewel-encrusted belt. DiBiase however, was in for a rude awakening come the new champion’s coronation ceremony on the falling edition of NXT on USA. Knight accepted the belt before adding that he now had everything he wanted so it was time to drop the things he didn’t need before levelling DiBiase with a punch. LA Knight then put the boots to DiBiase before Grimes entered the fray to make the save.

Now Knight and Grimes will meet once again with the priceless prize on the line. However this time, there could be dire consequences for NXT’s King of Crypto Cameron Grimes if he comes up short. If Grimes loses the match to Knight then he has to become his butler.

The concept of the Million Dollar Champion being accompanied by a butler is no stranger to long time wrestling fans. Ted DiBiase was accompanied for several years by his own butler, Virgil. That partnership didn’t have a happy ending for DiBiase however, as Virgil realised there was no price on dignity and broke free of DiBiase’s cash-covered clutches before defeating DiBiase to become only the second-ever Million Dollar Champion.

The match between Grimes and LA Knight will take place on the 6th of July at NXT Great American Bash. Also announced for that show is the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions The Way putting their title on the line against Zoey Stark and Io Shirai. The men’s Tag Team Champions will also defend their belts as MSK face Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. The fallout from the implosion of the Undisputed Era also rumbles on as Adam Cole will face Kyle O’Reilly one more time.
