LA Knight – “The People Are Demanding Me”

LA Knight cuts a promo

In recent months LA Knight’s popularity has exploded, and he’s currently one of the favorites to win the men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Knight’s meteoric rise has caught some by surprise given he’s still playing a heel role on television. Despite this, fans have rallied behind him and there was uproar on social media when the star wasn’t featured at WrestleMania 39.

Although the star hasn’t been involved in a major feud for a number of months, his reactions from the crowd have continued to grow, with many now feeling it’s inevitable that he takes a spot in the main event.

During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Knight was asked about his rise in popularity, and where he thought it came from. The former NXT star revealed that he could pinpoint the exact moment when the crowd moved in his favour, even if he doesn’t fully understand why.

“I can tell you exactly. It was back in March, we were in DC, Sheamus and Drew [McIntyre] were in the ring. And then all of a sudden, that music hit, and I walked out and I remember it just kind of hit me. And I was like, that’s different. But I was just thinking to myself, I was like, ah, they probably know I’m from up the road. Hagerstown is like, an hour away. Maybe enough of them know. Then we went to Pittsburgh the next week, went to New York the week after that.

And everywhere we went beyond there, it just continued to pick up more and more, and I’m just like, Okay, well, I guess it’s not. I’m not from New York, not from Pittsburgh. So maybe it’s not that. And since then, it’s just kind of picked up. LA got to a fever pitch, obviously.

Hell, Triple H is out there doing a presser in Saudi Arabia and he’s getting interrupted. So something’s happening. I don’t know why, and maybe I don’t even want to know why. But for some reason or another, the people are demanding me.”

Booker T Calls On WWE To “Strap The Rocket” To LA Knight

Speaking on his own podcast, Booker T moved to prasie LA Knight and his organic rise through the WWE ranks. The WWE Hall of Famer claimed that as a result it’s now time for the company to “quit messing around” and fully get behind Knight and push him into the main event.

The former WCW star said Knight’s rise is even more impressive given how little he has been given by WWE creatively.
