Former WWE United States Champion LA Knight has been out “indefinitely” with an injury.
Last week on the June 20th episode of SmackDown, fans witnessed LA Knight collide with Bronson Reed in an almost eight-minute showdown, which unfortunately ended in a disqualification. However, the concluding moments of the bout saw Reed and Bron Breakker launch an unprovoked ambush on the former US Champion.
Knight was long rumored to get involved in a feud against Seth Rollins; however, for the past few weeks, fans only witnessed him clash against Reed and Breakker. Done with The Megastar’s antics for the last several weeks, Reed and Breakker decided to act. Following the disqualification victory, Reed and Breakker outnumbered Knight and launched a post-match attack.
The former NXT North American Champion continuously dropped multiple Tsunamis(top rope splash) on Knight, leaving him motionless in the middle of the squared circle. Earlier tonight on the June 23rd episode of Raw, announcer Michael Cole announced that LA Knight was sidelined with separated rib cartilage and a bruised sternum.
A separated rib cartilage usually takes 2-3 months to recover, while a bruised sternum typically takes 2-3 weeks; more severe cases may take 4-6 weeks. Knight has yet to offer an official statement on this, while it has also to be confirmed if the injury is real or kayfabe.
In the meantime, we at ITR Wrestling would like to wish LA Knight a safe and steady recovery.
LA Knight Hopeful About A WWE World Title Run
Earlier this year, during an interview with Gorilla Position, LA Knight stated his hopes about a potential WWE World title run in the future.
“I don’t see how it’s not (Knight responded when asked if he thinks a WWE World Title is in his future)… I don’t care if they do (he said when asked if he thinks the powers that be see that for him). I’m sure that they didn’t believe that I would have gotten to where I got and that’s not a knock at them…
People see what they see and the company’s gonna have an agenda. You’re not always gonna be a part of it and for me, it was just, okay, well, I can’t worry about that. I gotta do what I gotta do in the sense of just keep pushing. If I have 30 seconds, it’s gonna be the best damn 30 seconds I can give ‘em.
If it’s 60 seconds, 90 seconds, whatever it is so those little bits of time that they were giving me when it was me and Bray Wyatt or just me floating off by myself doing nothing for months and months and months and months after Bray Wyatt. It was just, okay, well, I’m gonna make the damn best out of every single little bit that I got on here and at that point, it was forcing the hand and I know we’re going into the same thing and I talk about it I feel like in every damn interview and I hate that.”
