LA Knight has addressed a frequent complaint from WWE fans about his recent match.
On the May 6th episode of Raw and the May 10th episode of SmackDown, first-round matches took place in the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments. However, with 16 opening-round matches to get through and the company feeling that there was not enough time across Raw and SmackDown to present all the matches on TV, 4 matches took place on live events on May 11th and May 12th.
Upon hearing the news that Knight’s match against Santos Escobar was one of the matches that would take place on a house show, many fans expressed their disappointment as they wanted to see The Megastar in action on Friday night.
Responding to a fan on social media who was happy for Knight and Tiffany Stratton to advance in their respective tournaments but wanted to see them on TV, Knight defended the decision:
I appreciate everyone saying this match should’ve been on TV. But, no need to throw live event crowds under the bus. Live events are where the @WWE roster has as much fun as possible. Not only having a great match, but a match with HUGE stakes makes the live events more fun!
LA Knight Hoping To Bounce Back From Major Loss
Prior to entering the King of the Ring tournament, Knight lost to AJ Styles in a match where the winner challenged Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship at Backlash. The victory by Styles means that each star has a victory over the other as Knight was victorious at WrestleMania. When discussing his recent feud with LA Knight, AJ Styles revealed a surprising detail.
Recently it was announced that LA Knight will confront Logan Paul on WWE SmackDown.
