LA Knight’s Disappointing RAW Record Shows WWE Has Dropped The Ball On Him

LA Knight WWE dropped the ball

Despite how much fans love him, LA Knight does not seem to be heading toward a WWE World Title anytime soon.

Knight has undoubtedly been one of the most over babyfaces in WWE over the last few months, even years, one might say. The star has been incredibly popular with his YEAH! catchphrase and has also lit up the world with his wrestling and promo acumen. Despite his great looks, superb promo skills, and an authentic old-school wrestling style, it seems WWE and Triple H are still not very keen on putting the world title on him.

LA Knight‘s rise to the forefront started on SmackDown. Despite spending the first few months on his main roster run as Max Dupri, manager of Maximum Male Models, he soon broke out from that and became LA Knight, the superstar we all know and love today. Of course, Knight isn’t some newbie on the block. He is a 22-year veteran of the industry and has had extensive stints with NWA and TNA. He is highly popular, has charisma that is rarely found among stars nowadays, and has an undeniable aura that has propelled him to such great heights.

While many, including Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, expected him to win the world title soon, Knight just keeps coming short in the main matches. It’s not like he has been relegated to the mid-card and has no future. As a matter of fact, it’s quite the contrary. Knight is constantly there with the top stars in the main event scene and always has the best spots on a weekly basis, even winning the United States Title, but somehow, that does not translate into him becoming the TOP guy. Instead, The Megastar has always been used as fodder for others to pin, and that is being underlined during his recent run on WWE RAW.

LA Knight Is Once Again The Third Wheel In The Usos Versus The Vision On WWE RAW

Over the past few weeks, Knight has gotten himself entangled in a battle against Seth Rollins’ Vision. It started with him vs Rollins, but that sort of faded away after their Saturday Night’s Main Event Match, where The Visionary ‘injured’ himself. That gave way to a lackluster feud, which ultimately led to a Fatal Four-Way Match at SummerSlam, where Becky Lynch was introduced to the group and Rollins pinned CM Punk.

This week on RAW, the star was once again in a feud with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, with his misunderstanding with Jey Uso continuing as a sort of side quest. Uso speared him to end the night, but before that, Knight lost yet another match against Bronson Reed.

This was his third singles loss on WWE RAW in a row. His previous two singles matches saw him lose to Bron Breakker and Seth Rollins. At this point, Knight has lost to all three male members of the group, except Paul Heyman. The star, in return, has won two tag team matches, one with CM Punk and the other with Jey Uso last week.

It makes very little sense as to why his feud with The Vision is still ongoing, and what he is doing in the midst of The Usos. It may seem from how WWE has been booking Knight and Jey that the ultimate goal is to have the latter turn heel and go into a feud with The Megastar. Even then, it makes little sense to take LA Knight since he keeps losing all his singles matches.

At this point, it’s safe to say WWE and Triple H have dropped the ball on him considerably, and he only exists as fodder to the other bigger babyfaces or the main event heels. It’s a shame, to be honest, because Knight could have been a highly popular babyface champion, one that would give both Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso a run for their money. Instead, his state of affairs is nothing short of disappointing, and one can only hope it will improve at some point in time.
