LA Knight Pulled From SmackDown Main Event

LA Knight

LA Knight missed SmackDown due to a medical issue.

Ahead of the September 22nd episode of SmackDown, it was reported LA Knight would be featuring in the main event with John Cena. As well as playing a role in the contract signing segment, he was due to wrestle in a dark match after the show.

However, Knight left the arena before the show began and didn’t feature on television.

It’s since been reported by Fightful Select that Knight went home after testing positive for COVID-19.

On the show, Cena and AJ Styles asked to face Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso, but when approached by Adam Pearce, Paul Heyman would only agree to the match if it wasn’t that night. This set up a contract signing for a match at Fastlane, but Styles never made it after being attacked backstage by The Bloodline.

In the closing segment, everyone except Cena’s partner signed the contract for Fastlane, and the 16-time World Champion was destroyed by Sikoa and Jimmy.

In recent news, LA Knight is set to return to SmackDown following his COVID-19 diagnosis.

LA Knight Was Almost Fired By WWE

On September 21st, the Maximum Male Models were among those released by WWE and later went on Twitch to discuss their run with the company. When the team was formed they were initially managed by LA Knight under the name Max Dupri.

Although the faction was a pet project of Vince McMahon, he was less than impressed with Knight’s portrayal of the Dupril character. Mace and Mansoor revealed that McMahon felt LA Knight’s performance was so bad, he almost fired him.
