WWE Superstar LA Knight has addressed being referred to as a throwback to the Attitude Era.
LA Knight recently appeared on the podcast WWE After The Bell with Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick where he discussed how he is being compared with some of the greats of the Attitude Era.
Graves asked Knight if he’s had anyone approach him about why he has seen a recent popularity surge to which Knight responded:
I mean, most people will say it feels like a throwback to the Attitude Era, and that is probably completely true. Because that is kind of like what I liked. And so I think that even if you can link it back to that, it’s a matter of bringing the old to the new and mixing those things, but at the same time, like there’s a lot of things that didn’t, or don’t speak to me, I guess in the current era of wrestling, and for me, it was like, Well, what can I do that’s going to be set myself apart? What can I do that’s going to make me look different?
Although Knight has garnered positive reactions from the WWE Universe, not everyone in the wrestling world sees the hype behind Knight. WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently spoke out about LA Knight and branded him a rip-off of The Rock.
Will LA Knight Be At WWE SummerSlam?
Knight is scheduled to be at SummerSlam in the Slim Jim Battle Royal match, which will feature other confirmed Superstars such as Sheamus, Tommaso Ciampa, Shinsuke Nakamura, Otis and Chad Gable.
