The announcement was made on March 17th during AEW and NXT, and came with a tease that the timing of the news may provide as to who Rae would be facing.

During the March 17th edition of AEW Dynamite, Thunder Rosa clashed with long-time rival Britt Baker in an Unsanctioned Lights Out Match. The chaotic bout earned praise from fans and wrestlers alike, becoming the joint highest rated United States based women’s match in history in the Wrestling Observer.
Rae, who still holds the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship, had previously been scheduled to wrestle at IMPACT Wrestling’s Bound For Glory in a Knockouts Championship Match with Deonna Purrazzo, but that match would be pulled from the card late on, with Rae confirming she was stepping away from wrestling – stating that she was “unwell” and was no longer a professional wrestler.
