Kylie Rae has a new wrestling home at NWA. The news broke during the pay-per-view When Our Shadows Fall that “Smiley” Kylie had signed a new deal with the promotion.
Rae made her NWA in-ring debut at the show. Rae scored her first victory when she and Taryn Terrell defeated Thunder Rosa and Melina.

Rae came out of retirement to join NWA when the company surprisingly added her to the pay-per-view card. Last year, Rae announced her retirement, stating that she was no longer a professional wrestler. Her shocking announcement came after she reportedly went AWOL from IMPACT Wrestling. Rae was scheduled to face Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory but it was later reported that she in fact did not turn up to the event.
It was reported that she was still under contract with IMPACT, but Mike Johnson of PWInsider revealed;
“NWA and Impact worked out an agreement over the last several weeks, allowing Rae to move on and sign with the NWA. We are told that the two sides came to terms within the last 4-5 days.”
News broke in March that Rae was returning to the ring for Warrior Wrestling. The day before the NWA show, Rae successfully defended the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship against Holidead.
Inside the Ropes reported back in April 2021 that NWA was performing far above its expectations on FITE with sources close to FITE telling ITR that:
“following an assessment after the first month of broadcasting, the expectations the broadcasters had of NWA have been vastly exceeded in terms of both subscribers and revenue.”
NWA are once again building a very interesting and solid women’s division. It is very exciting to see what the future holds for both Kylie Rae and NWA.
