Kyle O’Reilly Reportedly Out Of Contract Next Month

Kyle O'Reilly

Former NXT Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly is reportedly out of contract with WWE in December paving a possible move away from the company.

O’Reilly joined WWE in July 2017 debuting on the NXT brand after a stellar career that had seen him capture Ring Of Honor Tag Team Championship as well as the Ring Of Honor Title.

Kyle O’Reilly was joined by his reDragon tag team partner Bobby Fish and at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, the duo joined the debuting Adam Cole and Undisputed Era was born.

During his time on NXT O’Reilly has captured the NXT Tag Team Championship three times with various members of the Undisputed Era including the group’s fourth man, Roderick Strong.

In February 2021, Adam Cole shockingly turned on the group and laid out O’Reilly leading to a prolonged feud between the former friends. That culminated in the ‘Undisputed Finale’ at NXT TakeOver 36 that Kyle O’Reilly won, marking Cole’s last appearance in WWE after his own contract had expired.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com has now reported that O’Reilly – who it is noted is listed internally within WWE as the number 2 babyface on the NXT roster – is out of contract in December.

With the NXT reboot taking place Kyle O’Reilly is one of the few standouts from the black and gold brand still featured on NXT 2.0. O’Reilly has been aligned with newcomer Von Wagner since the brand was relaunched back in September.

While it is noted that O’Reilly could well sign a new deal with WWE, the prospect of him joining Fish and Cole who are both now fixtures in AEW could have fans salivating with the opportunities for even more dream matches.
