Hulk Hogan returned to WWE on January 23rd when he appeared on the 30th-anniversary special of Monday Night Raw.
Hogan opened the show alongside Jimmy Hart and thanked fans for making the show what it is today. He did a short rundown of his catchphrases before heading to the back. During the appearance, Hogan stayed at the very top of the ramp and remained relatively still while cutting his promo.
Hulk Hogan Using A Cane To Walk
Speaking on the most recent episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Hero recalled catching up with Hogan at the show. Angle revealed that the WWE Hall of Famer had recently undergone more back surgery, this time having nerves “cut from his lower back.” This means that the star now walks with a cane as he can’t feel the lower half of his body.
“Hogan had his back surgery again. He had the nerves cut from his lower body. He can’t feel his lower body. So let’s use his cane to walk around. I thought he was using the cane because he had pain in his back. He doesn’t have any pain. He has nothing at all. He can’t feel anything. So now he can’t feel his legs. So he has to walk with a cane which is, you know, that’s pretty serious, man.
I mean, I really feel for Hogan. He put his heart and soul into the business and ate him up,” said Kurt. “I mean, if you’re gonna kick off the show, the 30th anniversary of Raw, [it] should be Hulk Hogan. He’s the name and face of the company. He’s the guy that revolutionized pro wrestling. I have so much respect for him.”
Hulk Hogan’s appearance was his first WWE outing since hosting WrestleMania 37. On that occasion, he was loudly booed, although he received a much warmer response this time around.
