Kurt Angle To Undergo Major Surgery Next Month

Kurt Angle smiles in the ring

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed that he is set to undergo surgery next month.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, available via AdFreeShows, Kurt Angle confirmed that he will be undergoing knee replacement surgery in the near future.

The former World Champion revealed that he will be getting both of his knees repaired at the same time, which will leave him needing a wheelchair or a walker during his recovery.

“I’m having my knees replaced next month,” Angle said. “Both of them at the same time, I’m getting it over with. I’ll be on a wheelchair or a walker.”

Speaking on an episode of his podcast in Summer 2021, Angle revealed that he was in “extreme pain” all day, and had to work on his body for 2-3 hours everyday in order to manage the discomfort.

He has also previously stated that he requires neck fusion surgery, although he had been putting it off for a number of years.

“My neck is not that great,” Angle said. “I have a lot of motor skill problems in my hands, my fingers because of my neck. Numbness down my arms, I have a lot of pain in my neck. I’ve been putting off fusion surgery for gosh, 15 years. I might not be able to put it off for much longer, I’m eventually going to have to have fusion. I’ve had the quick fix surgeries just so I could get back in the ring again and the last one I did I think was 2015. I’m eventually going to have to have fusion, I’ve just been putting it off.”

Despite this, in March the former WWE star refused to rule out an in-ring return, noting that he was keeping the “option open” should the right opportunity present itself.

Inside The Ropes is bringing Kurt Angle to the UK and ROI in April for ‘The Olympic Hero Tour’. Tickets are now available from ITRTix.com. Don’t miss this chance to meet the WWE Hall of Famer himself and hear stories from his legendary career!
