WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has taken to Twitter to share a short vignette of himself lacing up his boots before “to be continued” flashes across the screen.
Having been very vocal about his dissatisfaction regarding his “retirement” match in WWE, calling it “filler” and saying how he felt he had more to give to the industry, the Olympic Gold Medalist’s timing for the tease of an in-ring return is interesting.
Just this week, AEW promised a “Hall-of-Fame-worthy” signing at tomorrow’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view – and Kurt Angle would definitely fit the bill. His career is most definitely ‘Hall of Fame’ worthy, and the only other criteria that we’re aware of is that the gender of the talent is male, and that Tony Khan is a huge fan.
Delving slightly deeper, Khan would comment on Paul Wight’s announcement of the signing with the word “true” – which we all know to be synonymous with the former WWE Champion. Although it’s worth noting that narrowing in on two words from an entire quote may just be taking things slightly out of context.
“I can confirm what Paul [Wight] said is true.”

While the former WWE Champion has found success outside of the ring of late with his new podcast venture, several of Angle’s AdFreeShows comrades actually appeared on AEW Dynamite just this week – with Conrad Thompson and Eric Bischoff making guest appearances to ask questions of Chris Jericho and MJF.
At the time of writing, Kurt Angle’s last match was almost two years ago at WrestleMania 35. However, “to be continued” suggests it may not be his final bout inside the ropes.
Might Kurt Angle be the surprise signing at AEW Revolution? We’ve rounded up nine other names alongside the Olympian who may very well become All Elite this weekend.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for the big reveal.
AEW Revolution takes place on March 7th. Viewers outside the United States can watch the pay-per-view via Fite TV.
