The last time that Shane McMahon existed in the WWE Universe was his exit at this year’s Royal Rumble.
However, that doesn’t mean that Shane McMahon isn’t still involved with the world of professional wrestling. On the most recent episode of his “The Kurt Angle Show” podcast, Kurt Angle spotlighted that Shane McMahon is still close friends with several high-profile legends in the wrestling community, and keeps consistent contact with them. The list includes top-level stars such as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and The Undertaker.
Shane McMahon Is Still In The Picture Of Pro Wrestling And Sports Entertainment
For what happened at the Royal Rumble, Shane McMahon received a ton of heat backstage, and it’s been claimed that he was fired by former WWE CEO and his father, Vince McMahon. “Shane O’Mac” has been spotted in public on multiple occasions as of late, however, nothing is currently known about a potential future in World Wrestling Entertainment.
According to Kurt Angle, he has personally spoken to Shane McMahon, doing so two months ago. Angle also pointed out that it was McMahon who reached out to him, as both have a close relationship themselves outside the wrestling business.
Recently, Angle would hold a special Q&A session called Ask Kurt Anything, and here’s what he revealed about Shane McMahon:
“You know what? We talked to each other about two months ago on the phone. I did talk to him,” said Kurt Angle. “He reached out to me and asked me how I was doing. Shane, out of the blue, he always keeps in touch with his closest friends. Undertaker, me, Stone Cold, and even Dwayne Johnson when he can, but Shane always reaches out. He always wants to keep in touch with everybody that he was close to.”
