PWInsider have reported that WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will be in attendance at this year’s Survivor Series. While his role at the event is currently unknown, it is likely he will be involved in The Undertaker’s ‘Final Farewell’ which will be a focal point of the show.
Survivor Series is important in Angle’s own career, having made his WWE debut at the event in 1999, beating Shawn Stasiak. The following year, he retained the WWE Championship against The Undertaker himself. The two went on to have many memorable matches over the years, including a classic at No Way Out 2006 which can be viewed below.
The Olympic Gold Medallist was released from his role as a WWE Producer back in April as part of the company’s COVID-19 related cost-cutting measures. He has since made an appearance on NXT as a special guest referee for the cage match between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher in May. Following this, Angle was offered a role managing Riddle but turned it down to focus on his own company.
Earlier in the week, Savio Vega also confirmed he would be attending Survivor Series as part of the Deadman’s ‘Final Farewell’. More names are expected to be added to the event, and Inside the Ropes will report on these as they are confirmed.
