WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has named former NXT Champion Robert Roode as the most underrated star in the entire WWE.
Kurt Angle and Robert Roode are no strangers to each other, first locking up in TNA in 2007. Perhaps their best-known bout came at Bound For Glory 2011 when Roode challenged Angle for the TNA World Championship.
Angle defeated Roode to the amazement and annoyance of most fans but the storyline that followed saw Roode split with long-time partner James Storm before going on to become TNA Champion as the self-proclaimed It-Factor of Professional Wrestling.
Robert Roode joined WWE in 2016 and went on to find success on the brand winning the NXT Championship and becoming one of the most over acts in the company with his ‘Glorious’ entrance.
Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medallist explained why he thinks his former TNA rival is the most underrated competitor in WWE and says WWE is not doing right by the man he still calls Bobby:
“Bobby Roode is the most underrated wrestler … there. They are not doing right by Bobby. He is so talented. He, I have to say, for me working with, you know, I’ve worked with thousands of talent. Bobby is in my top ten. Definitely is in my top ten.”
Robert Roode has not appeared on WWE television since SmackDown in April when he was part of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal ahead of WrestleMania 38.
