Kurt Angle Reveals Why He Wasn’t At Legends Night

Kurt Angle

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed why he didn’t appear at WWE Legends Night on last week’s Monday Night RAW.

The Olympic Gold Medalist had been promoted alongside Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and several others to return to WWE at the landmark show to kick off 2021, but wouldn’t appear. During a Q&A on his official Facebook page, Angle revealed why he missed the show.

“I had a prior engagement I was committed to. I couldn’t get out of it.”

Angle was one of many who WWE released last year in April due to the cutbacks brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Angle, however, has appeared on WWE television since his release, refereeing the Fight Pit Match between Riddle, then known as Matt Riddle, and Timothy Thatcher – before introducing Riddle to SmackDown before the former UFC fighter moved to RAW in the WWE Draft.

Kurt Angle wasn’t the only former WWE Superstar who was advertised for Legends Night, but didn’t appear onscreen. Candice Michelle recently opened up about how her appearance was falsely promoted. One other legend who didn’t appear despite being advertised was Carlito, who apparently declined after finding out the nature of his planned appearance.
