WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently took to his “The Kurt Angle Show” podcast to discuss a multitude of topics.
One of them happened to be about current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, with Angle saying that he’s a special kind of talent in the world of professional wrestling.
Kurt Angle Is A Fan Of Jon Moxley
“I think he’s doing great. I think he is one of the most underrated wrestlers, definitely. I think he’s solid. I think he does everything incredibly well. I don’t see much of a transformation from Dean Ambrose to Jon Moxley. It seems like he’s still him. He has that attitude. He never took that away from himself, that’s what makes him special. That arrogant, cocky look is what makes him who he is.”
Back in 2004, Jon Moxley would make his official in-ring debut, eventually signing with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2011. After performing in Florida Championship Wrestling, which is now known as NXT, Moxley would get called up to the main roster in 2012, going by the ring name Dean Ambrose. In WWE, Moxley would be a part of The Shield with faction mates Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
Before Rollins ultimately turned on the stable in 2014, the group was very popular among the WWE Universe. In 2016, Moxley would win the WWE Championship as Ambrose in 2016, cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase that he had just won at the namesake event.
In 2019, Moxley would make his exit out of World Wrestling Entertainment, making his debut for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) at their Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Since joining the roster of AEW, Moxley is the only wrestler in the promotion to have three stints as AEW World Champion. With his third and current run, he would win the title while it was vacant, taking out Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
