WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle says a current Raw star is not being helped by their smaller stature and compares them to Angle’s TNA rival AJ Styles.
Kurt Angle has made no secret of his admiration for WWE Superstar Chad Gable in the past. Gable has been compared to Angle throughout his wrestling career given his own Olympic credentials after competing in the 2012 Olympics Games in London.
Gable is a multi-time tag team champion in WWE after capturing both the NXT and SmackDown Tag Team Titles with Jason Jordan before winning Raw Tag Team gold with Bobby Roode. However, many fans still feel Chad Gable could offer more if given a chance and point to his ill-fated run as ‘Shorty G’ as an example of the star being the victim of poor creative decisions.
During a ‘Gold Medal Q and A’ on AdFreeShows.com, Kurt Angle discussed his fellow Olympian and says he doesn’t think he’s been given the chances he should have been in WWE:
“Chad is still underrated. That poor kid, because of him being undersized, he hasn’t gotten much of a chance that he should. And I really believe that if they gave him that shot, he would be another great athlete like AJ Styles. AJ was undersized too, and I think that Chad Gable would have the same effect.”
Kurt Angle and Chad Gable shared the ring in March 2019 as Angle embarked on something of a farewell tour before his final match at WrestleMania 35 where he lost to Baron Corbin.
