WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has revealed that the company had asked him to get involved in a short term program, but it was cancelled late in the day.
The multi-time WWE Champion confirmed those discussions on a recent episode of his podcast, ‘The Kurt Angle Show‘ (available early via AdFreeShows.com). At that time, he said the plan was for him to be involved with the company for the “next month or so”.
“I did [receive a call] from WWE and they want me to be involved in the show for the next month or so. I’m really excited about it, so we’ll see what’s in store for me.”
However, as is often the case in the world of pro wrestling, plans have now changed. On the most recent episode of the podcast, Angle revealed that the program was scrapped at the last second. He went on to make clear that he is not currently signed with WWE and his only current obligations are to the podcast.
“I went to the Royal Rumble. The WWE wanted me to do a short program that they ended up cancelling at the last second… But I want to make it clear, I’m not signed with the WWE. They weren’t going to sign me anyway. It was gonna be a three-week program. It got cancelled, but you know my obligation is to the show, the Kurt Angle show, and that’s it.”
Inside The Ropes is bringing Kurt Angle to the UK and ROI in April for ‘The Olympic Hero Tour’. Tickets are now available from ITRTix.com. Don’t miss this chance to meet the WWE Hall of Famer himself and hear stories from his legendary career!
