Kurt Angle Names The Stupidest Thing He Ever Did In Wrestling

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has opened up about what he considers the “stupidest” thing he ever did in a wrestling ring.

The Olympic gold medallist and multi-time world champion made his admission during an appearance on Chris Van Vliet’s popular podcast, Insight. Angle didn’t mince words when he identified his most ill-advised in-ring decision.

“Oh God, the Moonsault off the top of the cage.”

Angle confessed, referring to the move he would perform from the summit of steel cages. This stunt, which Angle executed on multiple occasions, left both fans and fellow wrestlers in awe – and, as it turns out, considerable danger. The wrestling icon recounted specific instances of this perilous move, mentioning matches against Chris Benoit and Ken Anderson. However, it was his encounter with Anderson that stood out as particularly memorable – and painful.

“Ken’s like, ‘I’ll take it,’ I’m like, ‘You don’t want to take that.’ He said, ‘No no no, I’ll take it, I’ll be okay.’ So we did it and I landed right on his face.”

The impact was so severe that it left both wrestlers reeling.

“Actually, I was hurting, it hurt my stomach. I knocked the wind out of myself but I figured, ‘If I’m hurting this bad, Ken’s hurting worse.'”

Which Major WWE Match Does Kurt Angle Regret Having Never Won?

Kurt Angle spoke about how he missed an opportunity to win the Royal Rumble match and said that he thinks he could have won the match and had another run as world champion if he hadn’t left for TNA in 2006.

In a new interview, Kurt Angle praised Roman Reigns for achieving the “almost impossible.”
