Kurt Angle has recalled the instructions Mae Young gave him before he Angle Slammed her on Raw as she told him to “spike the sh*t” out of her.
The Attitude Era was a very different time in WWE from the company it presents itself as today. Back in the year 2000, an Olympic gold medallist could slam an octagenarian woman that was also supposedly with child in the middle of the ring and the fans would wildly cheer.
Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recalled the time he did exactly that to Mae Young live on Monday Night Raw:
“That night before the match she came up to me and she said, ‘Hey, I want you to spike the sh*t out of me, I want you to slam me as hard as you can. I want to f*cking feel it!’ My god, this lady wants me to spike her as hard as I can, she wanted me to Angle Slam her as hard as I could.”
“She never shied down to any bump that she had to take, she always followed through.”
Kurt Angle also recently discussed another legendary competitor as he explained why WWE decided to fire Bob Backlund.
